Ella Speaks French & Conquers Winter

— Ella…? Viens, says Monique in a soft, almost mischievous tone.
I know “viens” means “come”, but I do not want to do as I’m told. There is nothing better than staying in bed when it’s cold outside.
— Ellaaa…
— Oui, I’m on my way, j’arrive!
I reluctantly push the door open and what do I see? Monique with the biggest grin, hiding behind a pair of traditional wood snowshoes; “des raquettes!” she exclaims.
— Des raquettes? I repeat.
— Oui, Ella. Tu viens?
